They found that she is about a week ahead in size (though I am guessing that may just be because she's going to be a big baby) and she actually is turned the wrong way right now. So, please pray for our little one that she will turn on her own in the next 2 weeks. If she doesn't, they will do something very painful where they give my uterus a shot to relax it (apparently the uterus is made to harden when it's pushed on) and then they will manually turn her over. And you know it's not pleasant if the doctor uses stronger words than "pressure" and "uncomfortable." It's going to hurt. PLUS it only has a 50% success rate, so there's still a great chance that after that I would have to have a C-section. They basically said that she's too comfortable in there (I guess I have a lot of amniotic fluid, so she has a lot of room in there), so she's not feeling the need to turn yet. So, we're praying and hoping that she will turn on her own before my next appointment in 2 weeks. Isn't she beautiful??
This past Sunday was mine and Luke's FIRST anniversary! I cannot believe a year has already past, but at the same time I can hardly remember life without him. I am so grateful to be in a happy, eternal, and loving relationship with my best friend. It was a great opportunity to pause and look at how much "us" has developed since that beautiful day in Nauvoo a year ago.
I woke up to a sparkling clean apartment, the smell of orange rolls that Luke had made (it's kind of a Sunday tradition that we enjoy), and Luke was setting up General Conference on the TV. For dinner we made one of our favorite meals, smothered burritos (a recipe my mom gave us - thanks!) So basically we celebrated with food and had a great relaxing day watching Conference and enjoying each other's company.

Very cute. You're so lucky that you get to see her like that - and it's free. I remember it being pretty expensive to have that done.
She is beautiful Heidi! Congrats! That's so cool that you got to see her while she's, ya know, still "cooking". Super cute. :-)
Heidi, my baby baby flipped to a breech position a couple months shy of her due date too. There is hope! The doctor had me doing these exercises to encourage her to flip - even standing on my head (I suggest doing handstands in a pool - much easier)! I also had the ECV procedure done. It really wasn't that bad. It was a little uncomfortable, but not painful. The part that sucked was waiting in the hospital for 5 hours while they gave me that drug slowly via I.V., and I couldn't eat that whole time! Anyway, the doctor flipped her, and we could tell her heart rate went down after he did. Then, within 5 minutes she flipped back! Grrr... She had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, and she was probably getting the optimum amount of oxygen in the head-up position. Baby knows best!
Two weeks after the ECV, and a couple weeks before she was due, she finally flipped herself. I think she knew it was showtime soon. So there IS hope, even if the ECV doesn't work! Usually during your first pregnancy, the baby "drops" into your pelvis a couple weeks before delivery - that's when the telltale "pregnancy waddle" starts. Imagine trying to hold a basketball between your knees. :) Since her head is the heaviest part of her body, it's likely that will be the part to drop into your pelvis.
Congratulations! It is such a blessing to be able to see your baby and know she is healthy. Our little girl didn't turn head down until 2 weeks before she came- you never know what your body or the baby will do when it comes right down to it. Just know that all is in the Lord's hands- this is His child too.
